MLCCs have 1.0F capacitance for small, thin devices

The GRM022R60G105ME01 and GRM022R60J105M have a capacitance value of 1.0µF in the 01005 inch size (0402).

The MLCCs measure 0.4 x 0.2 x 0.2mm. The GRM022R60G105ME01 has a rated voltage of 4V DC and the GRM022R60J105M has a rated voltage of 6.3V DC.

The company developed the small, laminated MLCCs in response to demand for smaller, thinner mobile electronics, such as smartphones. They can also be used to enable the further miniaturisation of electronic devices like smartphones and wearable devices.

The company’s proprietary thin layer technology is used for ceramic elements and its thin-sheet formation technology contributes to a 35% reduction in footprint and a 50% reduction in volume ratio, compared with its existing product with the same capacitance value.

The 4V DC GRM022R60G105ME01 is in mass production now; the 6.3V DC GRM022R60J105M is scheduled for mass production next year.

Murata is taking part in PCIM Europe 2020 (7 - 8 July)
