Li-ion battery protectors are surface mountable

The ITV series of three-terminal, surface mountable li-ion battery protectors are designed to guard against the damage caused by both over-current and over-charging. According to the company, the design provides fast response and reliable performance to interrupt the charging or discharging circuit before the battery pack becomes over-charged or over-heated.

There are five compact, surface-mount packages available in current ratings of 12, 15, 30 and 45A. They have low internal resistance to minimise power loss and comply with UL and TUV certifications and are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.

The protectors’ has an embedded fuse element which cuts off the circuit when over-current issues occur. A heater element, directly embedded under the fuse element, generates enough heat to blow the fuse once over-charging is detected by an IC or FET.

The ITV Series surface mount battery protectors are available in tape and reel format, through distributors, worldwide.
