Surface mount DC/DC converters save space and save component count

The miniature, high isolation, surface mount DC/DC converter can be used where board is a premium and budgets are tight, says the company.

The converters are designed for automated assembly, high performance features and low cost, says Micropower Direct.

There are eight models in the series which operate from 3.3 and 5.0V DC inputs and which provide outputs of 3.3, 5.0, ±3.3 or ±5.0V DC. Standard features include an input/output isolation of 4,200V DC, efficiency to 78% and high temperature operation of -40 to 105°C (to 100°C with no derating) with no heat sinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.

The mean time between failure (per MIL HDBK 217F) is greater than 7.0Mhours. All models are RoHS-compliant.

The converters are packaged in a miniature, SMT case with an industry-standard pin-out. All models are available on tape/reel for use with automated production equipment.
