Op amp is energy-efficient for optical sensing applications
The precision high-bandwidth operational amplifier has a gain bandwidth of 22MHz and slew rate of 11V/μs. According to the company it is well-suited for high speed signal conditioning and accurate current measurement in power conversion circuits and optical sensors.

It has a maximum input-offset voltage of 200µV (typical 50µV at 25°C) and extremely low input-voltage noise density of 7nV/√Hz which allows for accurate low side current measurements. There is also a typical input bias current of 2pA which enables accurate photodiode current measurement in optical sensing applications such as smoke detectors. Additional, unity gain stable, and fully specified on a load of 47pF, makes the op amp suitable for use as an input buffer for ADCs.

The op amp has an operating-voltage range of 1.8 to 5.5V and can be powered from the same supply as low voltage CMOS components, such as a microcontroller, or from a deeply discharged battery. The company claims that the precision parameters and stability over temperature not only simplify circuit design but mean that precision resistors or trimming after assembly are not required.

It is available now in MiniSO8 and DFN8 packages.

Typical applications which require accurate and responsive current measurements for power conversion systems are automotive smart mobility, solar panels, telecomms infrastructure and computer servers.

The company will release automotive-qualified devices in the second half of 2021.
