ICs supports thin linear charging ICs for wearable and IoT devices

Able to support a charge of 4.35 or 4.40V, the ICs from Torex Semiconductor are designed for use in wearable devices and Internet of Things (IoT) products that have become thinner and smaller in form, with higher performance demands, requiring the use of small, high energy density lithium batteries with a higher charge completion voltage.

 

In addition to the conventional charge completion voltage of 4.20V, the ICs also support 4.35 and 4.40V, and are compatible with a range of lithium battery types, says the company. Leakage current from the lithium battery has been reduced by 80% (100nA standard) compared to previous products, enabling longer standby times through lower lithium battery energy loss while devices are on standby and during long periods of storage while devices are waiting to be used after shipment from the factory.

 

Five or 10 ten hours can be selected for the charge timer, allowing flexible setting of the C rate as needed for maximum charge current restrictions.

 

The ICs are housed in the low profile USP-6B07 package (2.0 x 1.8 x 0.33mm), which can also support smart cards and other electronic devices with limited space.

 

The ICs support 0.2°C charging, allowing setting of charge timer to five or 10 hours.
