Rutronik Expands its Connector Portfolio with the MY05 Series from JAE
With the new MY05 Series from JAE, developed according to IEC 60664-1, Rutronik says it is adding compact high-voltage connectors to its portfolio for the first time.

The company says designed specifically for battery management systems (BMS) in electric vehicles, the series supports a rated voltage of 1,000 VDC and a withstand voltage of 4,800 VDC. This makes the MY05 connectors ideal for modern 800-V and 1,000-V EV architectures where maximum safety and minimal installation space are essential. The MY05 series is now also available from www.rutronik24.com.

The connectors come in 10- and 14-pin versions and fully comply with IEC 60664-1, including optimised creepage and clearance distances at high voltage levels. Depending on the design requirements, users can choose between MX80-compatible crimp terminals or 0.63-mm EU-standard terminals with a common pin header, ensuring maximum flexibility for OEM layouts. An optional CPA (Connector Position Assurance) provides an additional safety lock during mating.

Tested according to key automotive standards such as USCAR-2, USCAR-37, LV214 and LV215, the MY05 Series is suitable for harsh automotive environments. The operating temperature range extends from -40 °C to 125 °C. Designers can choose between straight or right-angle through-hole pin headers, both optimised for pin-in-paste/reflow soldering processes.

Typical use cases include BMS connections between BMU, BCU and cell modules, high-voltage sensing and control lines, as well as next-generation EV platforms. The compact MY05 connectors, rated up to 1,000 V DC, are also used in high-voltage industrial systems.
