DC/DC converters from Murata address high reliability needs of infrastructure equipment
The regulated DRQ-11.4/88-L48xx series provides 11.4V out at 88A, with a Vin range of 36 to 60V DC, operating from 48V DC battery systems or networking equipment that operates at 54V in. The regulated, fixed frequency, 1 kW rated bus converter has 97%, claimed to be an industry-leading level.


The DC/DC converter modules were developed to the industry standard DOSA high power quarter brick specification. Standard features include parallel load sharing of two or more modules, pre-bias protection, positive or negative on/off logic options, short circuit protection, over-current/ over-voltage and over-temperature protection. The modules support pre-biased start-up, eliminating reverse current issues during system start and shutdown, says the company.


They are also safety rated for networking and telecommunications applications. The fully isolated modules provide 1500V DC of I/O isolation with an operational insulation safety rating. The reliable modules are designed and tested to meet the industry requirements of IPC-9592 Revision B.


An integrated baseplate design enhances thermal performance and its 97% efficiency promotes cooler operation for reliability and longevity, adds the company.


Target applications are networking and telecommunications infrastructure equipment, communications equipment, network security, routers, wireless basestations, telecommunications switches and electronics, computing equipment and any other applications requiring power conversion to an intermediate bus voltage of 11.4V.
